Tummy Recovery Recipe for Dogs
When your dog experiences diarrhea or vomiting, vets often suggest a "bland diet" like cooked chicken and rice. You can give this a try too!
Below is my recommended recipe for such situations.
Please note, this diet is not nutritionally complete and should only be used for up to 5 days.
The purpose is to soothe and support their digestive system.
Once your pup is feeling better, you can slowly transition them back to their regular food or introduce a new diet.
If you’re unsure about the best food options for your dog, feel free to reach out to us for guidance.

Ingredients |
|
Ground Meat Turkey, Chicken, or Salmon 1 lb.
Canned Pumpkin 100 % pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) 1/2 can
Ginger freshly grated 1/2 to 1tsp
Chicken Bone Broth (No salt or spice) *Optional* 1-2 cup
How to Cook |
|
In the pan, add a small amount of cooking oil and cook your choice of ground meat until cooked (except Salmon. You don't need to pre-cook Salmon).
Then, drain all oil came from ground meat. It is important to reduce the fat content for this recipe.
In the pot, add cooked ground meat (or uncooked Salmon), grated Ginger, canned pumpkin and Bone broth or Water.
Place the lid and boil until you can see bubbles. Then, turn off and leave the pot with the lid until it cools down.
Mix well and serve small potion. If your pup has vomiting episodes recently, give small potion with more frequencies. Wait at least 30 minutes between each serving.
